Nicolas Pluquet

As a little guy of 5 or 6, he took a camera in hand for the first time and became his mother's photographer. Twenty years later, having become a graphic designer, he rediscovered his early gesture, listening to a growing desire to go behind the lens more often. He began taking pictures of whatever he found graphically interesting, and soon transitioned from using a modest digital camera to a full-frame hybrid.

One day, exploring an industrial wasteland, he found himself in the heart of a deserted place where time seemed frozen. His passion as an image-savior was born. He has since started looking for new subjects—he explores old castles, mansions, and hospitals that are abandoned or waiting for a second life, hoping to capture their fleeting eternity before the shift into oblivion or destruction.

His artistic work consists of revealing the influence of time on space, framing and playing with the architecture, colors, and textures of places where human activity has ceased.He seeks to highlight the unexpected poetry that hides in the flight of dust in a ray of light, in a coil of ivy that devours a pillar, in a fresco the decades gnaw away in silence....
