Root Bound

(hexagram 59)

Unclench the soil and stones; dislodge
your thorns; slough your rough bark.
Your defenses                                           have held you still—
a lone tree                                                  on a rock.
Infuse your pith with spring chyle;
weave rootless feet,                               and walk away.
