Claudio Cambon has worked as a documentary photographer for almost 40 years, and almost 30 of them on the Indian subcontinent. He has exhibited, published, taught, and lectured across the world. His first book, Shipbreak, about the last voyage, demolition, and recycling of a US-flag merchant tanker in Bangladesh, was published by Edition Patrick Frey, Zurich in 2015, and the photographs from this series come from his latest book, To Reach the Source: The Stepwells of India, published in October 2024 by ORO Editions, Novato. Claudio lives and works in France.
