“Although chasm may mean divide, chasms in the western United States manifest beauty that can unify across divisions. These three images—from the Antelope Canyons of the Navajo Nation, the Grand Canyon, and Horseshoe Bend along the Colorado River near Page, Arizona—offer differences in contrast and sharp contours that make for an awe any or all of us can feel.”
Michael Roberts is a retired pediatric psychologist and professor who has turned to more creative activities—writing and publishing photographs. He frequently hikes in the Sonoran Desert, which has led him to a fuller appreciation of the beauty found in nature.
